In his earlier career in the 1970’s, Mike was a sales associate for Berkman’s Electronics at the 4930 Burnet Road store in Austin, Texas for many years and eventually became store manager. All of us at the Burnet Road store had a great time working with Mike in the mid 70’s and early 80’s, including myself Terry, Shelley, Ed, Jim and Bill. Later in the 90’s, Mike became an Enrolled Agent by the IRS to represent tax clients in court for an IRS audit, if needed and he also became an expert tax preparer and bookkeeper.
Upon moving to Sidney, Ohio in the mid 2000’s he became employed by McCrate, DeLaet & Company as a tax preparer until his retirement.
Mike’s favorite hobby was fishing. He loved to fish anywhere that he possibly could.
He leaves behind the many friends that he made over the years. Everyone that met Mike Marshall instantly liked him and he was a good Christian man. He left numerous friends behind in the D/FW area and in the Austin, TX area. Mike will be greatly missed for his great sense of humor and his loyalty to his friends.
So, Mike, goodbye for now until the time comes when we can see you again on the other side, someday.
Mike had no living family. Shelley and I have been his closests friends for over 45 years. Also, thanks to Dale in Ohio for taking care of Mike’s final arrangements and for carrying out Mike’s final wishes. Many thanks to Debra in Austin for calling him every day and checking-in on Mike. Her friendship to Mike has been wonderful over the years and I know he looked forward to her phone calls – Captain Safety
Mike was a gentle soul. Everyone that ever met Mike liked him immediately. He only wanted the simple things in life. Fishing, playing cards, board games and fishing. He was a good Christian man and cared about people. I was thinking about Mike today so I wanted to post another comment on how I felt since losing him as a lifelong friend. Actually, he is not lost. I will see him again on the other side, one day.
